What is a Chicago Screw?

The term "Chicago Screw" refers to a type of fastener that in it's simplest form consists of a round domed head with a slot drive and a threaded shank. The origin of the name is believed to derive from it's use in the manufacturing and construction industries in Chicago during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Chicago was a major manufacturing center during that time, and many innovative tools and fasteners were developed there.

Chicago screws are also referred to as binding screws or fasteners. Their simplistic design makes them a good fit for many uses that range from binding paper products to leather goods. Their use is universal, limited only by a lack of creativity or strict strength requirements. How will you use them?
